Eternal Love

Eternal-Love-APPA-Forever Yours Photography

Eternal Love is a project inspired by a beautiful mother and her daughter who I met few years ago in a painting class.

Isabella is a lovely wife, mother of two absolutely gorgeous kids, an accountant, a painter and a very talented dancer. She and her beautiful daughter Teagen both are ballerinas and Teagen is a tap dancer too. All the passion and love Isabella has for art and dance inspired me to create a series of fine art portraits for them. After our first meeting and discussing about what I have in my mind which made her very excited too, I started making costumes for them, painting backdrops and arranging make-up and hair stylist for the shooting day.

We had some sessions to practice all the poses I wanted, and she practiced with Teagen at home. Unfortunately on the shooting day my friend got sick and she wasn’t able to take photos and behind the scene movies, but thanks to my lovely husband he shot with his phone which I am very happy that I still can document this even in not the best possible way.

The light and the colour pallet of the final image was very important to me, My goal was to create a photo based on old the oil paintings of the Romantic era. In those oil painting techniques there is some sort of glazing which gives the tone of brown and golden yellow to painting. I just wanted to re-create that. The project from the starts to the end took me at least 6 months and cost me a fortune! However I am really happy with the result. This image brought me a Silver with Distinction at the QLD AIPP State Awards 2017 and a very solid silver at 2017 APPA national Awards.

More important than those awards this print made this beautiful ballerina mother and daughter very happy. I hanged a 40″ canvas print of this print in my studio.

At the end I have to thank Isabella and Teagen for their participation in this project. Thanks to Jimmy from http://www.jim36.com/ for his brilliant job. Many thanks to my lovely friend Azadeh for assisting me on the shooting day, and finally, my dear Afshin for being part of this project by brain storming, shooting behind the scene and printing all my award photos and all love and passion he has.

Finally, thanks to Dylan & Meagan at Brilliant print for their beautiful canvas print.
